Obtain the digital communication, creative and marketable skills necessary for today’s technology-driven workforce in our Entrepreneur Technology Center. The goal of our Designing for Digital Content program is to assist students who have a specific interest in visual technology. We offer Web Page Design, eCommerce Business Techniques, Digital Photography and Photoshop instruction, Introduction to Digital Photography & Photoshop. Our Virtual Assistant Entrepreneur program offers a great opportunity for entrepreneur-minded individuals who wish to have a home-based business offering administrative support to outside companies, businesses, and other entrepreneurs.
Introduction to Illustrator
Each student should experience hands-on knowledge of print-oriented graphic design. Photoshop, QuarkXPress, InDesign and Illustrator are the industry standard programs. Knowledge of these three programs combined with their own drawing skills and the desire to move forward in the industry is a must for future career opportunities.
Introduction to Adobe Photoshop
This course shows you how to use Photoshop to perform many different image processing techniques. In this course, you will learn how to use several tools for selecting parts of images, and will move, duplicate and resize images. You will learn to use layers, layer effects, filters, painting and blending, and color modification. Also, you will learn how to create images of different formats for different applications.
Introduction to Digital Photography
Students will learn basic camera techniques and how to convert their images to digital ones. This course will provide the student with basic aesthetic principles as well as an extensive range of practical photographic techniques needed for entry into the photographic workplace and/or for artistic expression.
Introduction to Graphic Design
This course is an introduction to visual principles as the basis of graphic design communication, elements and issues of visual language. It covers the manipulation of graphic form to convey meaning, strategies for idea generation and development of unique concepts, and the designer’s role as visual storyteller.
Basic Drawing Techniques
The goal of this program is to focus on building fundamental drawing skills. Students will learn basic techniques such as shading, controlling tones, composition and drawing methods, using pencil and paper.
Introduction to Web Page Design
The Web Page Design course allows each student to experience hands-on knowledge of how to publish information on the Internet and achieve an understanding of basic Web Page design, using Hypertext Mark-up Language (HTML) and a web-based text editor.
Virtual Assistant Entrepreneur
A great opportunity for entrepreneur-minded individuals who wish to have a home-based business offering administrative support to outside companies, businesses, and other entrepreneurs. Classes will provide individuals with the knowledge and skills needed to build their own businesses as “Virtual Assistants” and to market themselves to potential clients.
One of the easiest ways to work from home is by doing virtual assistant (VA) work. Virtual assistants are skilled, home-based professionals that offer companies, businesses, and entrepreneurs administrative support. When you set up your own business, you have more flexibility with scheduling, choosing clients, and setting your rates, but you’ll also have to find your own clients, and setup your own business. These workshops will guide you through this process.
